Berlin’s “Paternosters”

The 19th century continuous elevator, known as “Paternoster” is a peculiar invention that still seems to have a lot of charm and potential. Thanks to the German engineering in GDR times, Berlin was blessed with relatively many of these devices. Here are some photos from a short visit into ones machine room.
